1. Who we are

Zerka Blogs ("the App", "we", "us") is a Shopify app that generates SEO blog posts, hero image prompts, and social media posts for your store using artificial intelligence. The app is operated by Zerka Limited. Contact: support@zerkablogs.com.

2. What data we collect

We collect the minimum data needed to provide the service:

• Shop domain — to identify your store (e.g. mystore.myshopify.com)
• Store niche — what your store sells (you enter this)
• Country / region — to tailor language and seasonal references
• Brand voice preference — your preferred writing tone
• Usage counts — how many posts you have generated this billing period
• Eligibility declaration — the country your business is registered in, the countries it operates in, your store's contact email, and the country your connection resolved to when you answered. Kept as a compliance record.
• Shopify session tokens — to authenticate your admin session (not stored beyond the session)

We do NOT collect: customer names, emails, addresses, order data, payment information, product inventory, financial data, or any other merchant or customer personal data.

3. How we use your data

• To generate blog content tailored to your store's niche and audience
• To enforce your subscription plan (post limits)
• To publish content directly to your Shopify blog when you request it

We do not use your data for advertising, benchmarking against other merchants, or any purpose unrelated to providing the App's features.

4. Third-party services — Anthropic Claude AI

To generate blog posts and social media content, the App sends the following information to Anthropic PBC (anthropic.com) via their Claude API:

• Your store name and website URL
• Your store niche (e.g. "handmade candles")
• Your country and preferred language
• The blog topic and keywords you enter for each post

Important: Anthropic does not use API inputs to train or improve their AI models for commercial API customers. Your data is used only to generate the content you requested and is not retained by Anthropic beyond their standard processing window. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

No customer data, order data, or financial data is ever sent to Anthropic or any other third party.

5. Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained for as long as the App is installed on your store. When you uninstall the App, all data associated with your shop (profile, subscription record, usage logs) is permanently deleted within 30 days, in accordance with Shopify's API Terms. In practice, deletion occurs immediately upon uninstall. Your eligibility declaration is retained as a compliance record until Shopify's 48-hour post-uninstallshop redact request, at which point it is deleted too.

6. Security

We apply industry-standard security measures to protect your data. API credentials and session tokens are encrypted. We do not share, sell, or disclose your data to any third party except Anthropic (as described in Section 4) and our hosting infrastructure provider. Any security breach will be reported to Shopify within 24 hours as required by the Shopify API Terms.

7. Your rights (GDPR / privacy laws)

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your data. To exercise these rights, uninstall the App (data is deleted automatically) or contact us at support@zerkablogs.com.

We comply with the GDPR, PIPEDA, and other applicable privacy laws. We respond to Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact).

8. Shopify's role

This App is built on the Shopify platform. Shopify's access to your store data is governed by Shopify's own Privacy Policy. We are an independent developer and not affiliated with Shopify Inc. beyond our Partner agreement.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
